Four journalists sent to prison for 5.5 years for cooperating with ACF

Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced journalists Antonina Favorskaya, Artem Krieger, Sergey Karelin and Konstantin Gabov to five and a half years in prison each in the case of participation in the activities of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (ACF), which is recognized as an “extremist organization” in Russia. This is reported by Mediazona. The trial was held in closed mode under the pretext of a threat to the participants of the trial.

The criminal prosecution of journalists is related to their participation in the creation of video materials for YouTube channels affiliated with Alexei Navalny’s team – in particular, for the channel Navalny LIVE. As Mediazona notes, people who had previously filmed street interviews for this resource acted as witnesses in court.
