Ukraine expects new Russian offensive

Russian forces are preparing a new offensive to put pressure on Kyiv against the background of the negotiation process, Ukrainian military and government analysts believe. The Associated Press writes that.

According to the agency’s sources, the Kremlin is preparing to launch an offensive along the entire 1,000-kilometer front line in the coming months.

At the summit held in Paris on March 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the upcoming Russian offensive in Sumy, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. According to him, the Russian leadership is deliberately delaying the negotiations “to gain time and then try to seize more territories”. Two G7 diplomatic representatives in Kyiv agreed with this assessment, AP reported.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump expressed a similar opinion.

At the moment, there are discussions about stopping hostilities in the Black Sea and stopping attacks on energy facilities.

The Kremlin said it would cease fire in the Black Sea only after the lifting of sanctions against Russian producers, exporters and transporters of food and fertilizers, as well as the connection of Rosselkhozbank to the SWIFT payment system. Trump said Washington was studying the conditions put forward by Russia.

Meanwhile, the Black Sea is the only place where Ukraine has been able to crowd Russian forces. Due to the risk of drone strikes, Russia was forced to actually withdraw its fleet from Crimea.
