The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering formally recognizing Crimea as part of Russia as part of a potential agreement to end the war in Ukraine. This is reported by Semafor, citing two knowledgeable sources.
According to the interlocutors of the publication, the White House is also discussing a possible appeal of the United States to the UN with a proposal to recognize Crimea as Russian territory at the international level. However, Trump has not yet made a final decision on these issues and is considering other options that could be included in the terms of a peaceful settlement, Semafor noted.
