Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed regret over the incident that occurred at the White House during his meeting with US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. He said he wanted to rectify the situation, reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to a peaceful settlement and expressed readiness to work “under Trump’s strong leadership” to end the fighting.
“None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring a lasting peace closer. No one wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I are ready to work under the strong leadership of President Trump to achieve sustainable peace. We intend to act quickly to end the war,” Zelenskyy wrote in social network X.
