Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has addressed Ukrainians. He said that he had instructed his officials to contact their American counterparts and get an answer regarding military aid.
“Today many people have one question: what will happen next with help from America? I instructed Ukraine’s defense minister, the heads of our intelligence agencies, diplomats to contact their contacts in the United States and get official information. People should not guess. Ukraine and the USA deserve a respectful dialog,” Zelenskyy said.
He noted that Ukraine had been “receiving different signals” for several weeks, and there had already been a precedent for stopping aid – both humanitarian and military – in late January, but “then everything was quickly restored.”
“This is not 2022. Now our resilience is higher, we have means of defense, but what is important for us is a normal partnership with America to really end the war,” Zelenskyy said. The president added that Ukraine will always be grateful to the USA for all the support that is provided.
