Zelenskyy leaves White House early after altercation with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has left the White House early after meeting with US President Donald Trump, Reuters reports. A press conference scheduled to follow the talks was canceled.

According to Fox News, Trump asked Zelenskyy to leave. The agreement on minerals was not signed, notes UNIAN.

Trump himself said that Zelenskyy was not ready for either a ceasefire or peace. “He disrespected the United States of America in their cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for peace,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

During the live broadcast, a heated argument broke out between Zelenskyy, Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance. Zelenskyy recalled that attempts to negotiate with Vladimir Putin over the years have failed.

“People were killed on the line of contact, but no one stopped Russia. We held talks, signed ceasefire agreements. I was persuaded that there would be no further escalation,” the Ukrainian president said.

Vance, in turn, said that Ukraine did not have enough servicemen, to which Zelenskyy replied that the American vice president had not even visited Ukraine.

At this point, Trump intervened in the conversation. “You can’t know that. Don’t tell us how we’re going to feel. We’re trying to help solve your problem. Don’t impose your position on us. You have no right to dictate to us what to do,” the US president said sharply.
