Ukraine and the USA have reached an agreement on natural resources, the Financial Times has reported, citing Ukrainian officials. According to the newspaper, Washington has dropped the most stringent conditions that were initially offered as part of the deal. In particular, the US is no longer demanding the right to potential revenue of 500 billion dollars from the exploitation of Ukrainian minerals.
The FT source notes that Kyiv managed to secure more favorable terms, as well as present the agreement as an opportunity to strengthen and expand its partnership with the US.
