Rosfinmonitoring has added poet Vera Polozkova to the list of “terrorists and extremists”. There is an asterisk next to her name – this is how people against whom criminal proceedings have been initiated under a terrorist article are labeled. The essence of the charges is unknown. In accordance with the legislation, she will have her bank accounts frozen and real estate transactions banned.
In 2023, the Prosecutor General’s Office sent to the FSB the application of State Duma deputy Elena Yampolskaya with a demand to check Polozkova’s statements on the subject of justification of terrorism. The occasion was the interview of the poetess to the journalist of “Dozhd” Mikhail Kozyrev. The latter mentioned her 2017 post, in which she promised to drink champagne if the propagandist and writer Zakhar Prilepin, who went to war in Donbass, “blew his head off.” Asked if she had done so after the news of the attempted assassination attempt on Prilepin in the Nizhnii Novgorod region, Kozyrev said. “Didn’t make it to the champagne. Maximum – a beer,” Polozkova joked, stipulating that she was not feeling gloating. She then called what had happened a horror, adding that she did not wish anyone to die. Prilepin himself in 2017 reacted to Polozkova’s post with the words “God is her judge” and promised to “forgive the fool” when she apologized.
