Ukraine does not intend to transfer its resources, including rare earth metals, to the United States for free, but is ready for their joint development. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Reuters. “The Americans have given us the greatest support and, accordingly, should be given priority access to our resources. I would also like to discuss this issue with President [US President Donald] Trump,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The head of state also said that Kyiv and Washington were discussing the possibility of using Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities to store US liquefied natural gas (LNG). According to him, Ukraine is ready to sign contracts with the US for LNG supplies, and in the future – to become an energy hub for the whole of Europe. “We are ready and want to have contracts for LNG supplies to Ukraine. And, of course, we will be a hub for the whole of Europe,” the President noted. At the same time, he emphasized that such agreements should be accompanied by international security guarantees for Ukraine.
