On Friday, January 31, Russian forces subjected the historic center of Odessa to a missile attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed. According to preliminary reports, Russia used Iskander ballistic missiles, which are difficult to intercept by air defense systems.
Seven people were injured as a result of the shelling, all are in moderate condition, said the head of the Odessa regional military administration (OBA), Oleh Kiper. Zelenskyy said Norwegian diplomats were at the center of the strike. Whether any of them were injured is not yet known.
