Trump warns he may reverse decision on long-range strikes on Russia

US President-elect Donald Trump has said he is considering reviewing a decision by incumbent President Joe Biden that authorized Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles to strike Russian territory. “Yes, I might reconsider that decision,” Trump said, responding to a related question while speaking to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago residence. The speech was broadcast on Fox5’s YouTube channel.

Trump also said that his team is working to find ways to end the war in Ukraine. According to him, certain successes in this direction have already been achieved. The Republican emphasized that his administration will negotiate with both Kyiv and Moscow. “We have to stop it,” Trump said, expressing confidence that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is committed to peace.

On Dec. 12, Trump spoke out strongly against Ukraine’s use of Western missiles to attack Russian territory. In an interview with Time, he said that such strikes only exacerbate the conflict and make it even more destructive. At the same time, he indicated that he plans to use military aid to Ukraine as a tool to pressure Russia during peace talks. On December 7, Trump urged Vladimir Putin to prepare for the end of the war, noting that Russia had suffered serious losses and had already lost.
