Russia’s chief whistleblower demanded that Santa Claus be recognized as a “foreign agent”

Vitalii Borodin, head of the Federal Project on Security and Anti-Corruption, has sent a request to the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office demanding that the Santa Claus brand be recognized as a “foreign agent,” Shot writes.

According to Borodin, Santa Claus is used by many foreign companies, including Father Christmas Ltd, which owns the trademarks Santa Claus, Father Christmas and Cyber Santa. The whistleblower believes that the value of the trademark is estimated at $1.6 trillion, and that foreign companies are financing the image of Santa Claus in Russia in order to destroy “traditional Russian values.”

He also noted that Santa Claus is popular in countries “unfriendly” to Russia and replaces the image of the traditional Santa Claus.
