Ukraine struck Russia for the first time with an ATACMS missile, hitting a weapons arsenal near Bryansk

The Ukrainian army could use ATACMS ballistic missiles to strike Russia for the first time. The first strike could have been carried out on an ammunition depot in Karachev in the Bryansk Region, RBC-Ukraine reported citing a source. This was also reported by Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov.

On the night of November 19, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the arsenal of the 1046 logistics center near Karachev in the Bryansk region, the AFU General Staff said. As a result, “12 secondary explosions and detonation in the target area” were recorded, the agency said.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, said that the 67th arsenal of the Russian Defense Ministry’s Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (v/ч 55443) was hit. According to him, artillery ammunition from North Korea, guided aerial bombs, anti-aircraft missiles and shells for multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) were stored there.

Residents of Karachev massively reported all night in local chat rooms and public forums about the explosions and the attack on the “military base”.

Local authorities reported only a drone attack. In the morning, the governor of the Bryansk Region, Aleksandr Bogomaz, reported the destruction of 13 airplane-type drones, assuring that “there were no casualties or destruction.” In turn, the Russian Defense Ministry reported 16 downed drones in the region.
