Ukrainian drones attacked several distilleries in Russia on the night of October 22, according to Russian authorities.
In the Tula region, the buildings of the Efremov distillery and a distillery in the village of Luzhkovsky were hit. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties, the head of the region Dmitrii Milyaev wrote in Telegram.
At the same time, he claims that Russian air defense systems “suppressed” the drone attack.
Efremov residents in the middle of the night reported two explosions and a fire in the area of the thermal power plant and the synthetic rubber plant. Local authorities did not comment on these reports.
In the Tambov region there was an explosion at the Biokhim plant in the town of Rasskazov, the head of the region Maksim Egorov said. The cause of the explosion, according to him, presumably was a drone attack. A fire started at the scene, which was extinguished an hour later. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties.
Voronezh Region Governor Aleksandr Gusev reported a fire at an unnamed industrial enterprise after a drone attack.
“On-duty air defense forces and REB means in one of the districts of the region detected and suppressed an unmanned aerial vehicle. It fell on the shop building of an industrial enterprise”, – wrote the head of the region.
According to him, there were no casualties, there was a “small fire” on one floor of the building, which has already been extinguished.
Due to the threat of drone strikes, Nizhny Novgorod airport temporarily suspended operations – “to ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights,” according to Rosaviatsiya.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that air defense forces destroyed 18 drones overnight over the Bryansk, Belgorod, Kursk, Tula and Orel regions.
The governor of the Tula region reported overnight a drone attack on two distilleries 150 kilometers apart. A Defense Ministry summary said only one drone was shot down in the Tula region.
The Tambov and Voronezh regions, whose governors also reported drone attacks, were not mentioned in the Defense Ministry’s bulletin.
