US President Joe Biden is in Germany this week planning to meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, CNN writes, citing three Western officials familiar with the matter.
“The European Four had planned to meet last week with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. The meeting was canceled as Biden postponed his trip due to Hurricane Milton approaching the southeastern United States.
Earlier, Reuters and the German edition of Spiegel, citing sources in the German government, wrote that Biden planned to visit Germany on October 18.
Spiegel reported that the U.S. president is scheduled to have official meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The talks will reportedly focus on Russia’s wars against Ukraine and in the Middle East.
On October 14, that U.S. President Joe Biden will visit Germany this week after having to reschedule it due to Hurricane Milton was confirmed by German government spokesman Wolfgang Büchner.
