AFU General Staff: Ukrainian military attacked kamikaze drone storage base in Krasnodar region

Ukraine’s defense forces on Wednesday attacked a storage base for attack drones near the Oktyabrsky settlement in Russia’s Krasnodar krai, the AFU General Staff claims.

According to the Ukrainian military, about 400 attack drones were stored there. The General Staff reports an exact hit and a secondary detonation on the territory of the base.

Russian authorities reported a “warehouse fire” in the Yeisky district of Krasnodar krai on the territory of more than one and a half thousand square meters, without specifying what exactly was stored there.

“In the village of Oktyabrsky in the Yeisk district there was a fire of warehouse premises… According to preliminary data, there are no victims <…> at the moment the territory within 500 meters from the fire site is cordoned off, there is no threat to residents,” – stated in the message of the operational headquarters of the region. Later they reported that at 02:05 the fire was completely eliminated.

Telegram channel Astra reported explosions at the site of the fire, citing clips of eyewitnesses of the fire.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in its morning report that 47 UAVs were intercepted and destroyed over the territory of Krasnodar krai.

Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said that infrastructure facilities were not damaged in the drone attack. However, according to him, the wreckage of the destroyed drones in the farm Boikoponura in the Kalininskaya district caused the windows of two houses to be broken out, and in the village of Plastunovskaya in the Dinskaya district, a farm building, a gas pipeline, the roof and windows in one of the houses were damaged.
