A fire started at a military airfield in Adygeya after a drone attack

On Thursday night, Ukrainian drones attacked the suburb of Maykop in the Republic of Adygea. The head of the region Murat Kumpilov reported the evacuation of residents of the Rodnikovy settlement because of the resulting fire. The settlement is adjacent to the village of Khanskaya, where the military airfield of the same name is located.

The fire on the territory of the airfield was recorded by NASA FIRMS satellite service. According to preliminary information, the fire occurred in a warehouse of aviation fuel.

According to the head of Adygea, there are no casualties. The fire is being extinguished by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

At night and in the morning, Ukrainian and Russian Telegram channels published videos of explosions and smoke near the airfield, and local residents also spoke about the explosions on social networks.

The 272nd aviation training base of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School is located at the Khanskaya military airfield.

The Russian Defense Ministry this morning announced 92 drones shot down and intercepted over several Russian regions, but did not mention Adygea in its summary.
