The Russian Defense Ministry has posted a report on Telegram that the Russian Armed Forces “continue actions to defeat the enemy grouping that has penetrated into the territory of Kursk Region.”
The report says: “In the course of offensive operations, units of the North group of troops liberated 10 settlements over the course of two days: Apanasovka, Byakhovo, Vishnevka, Viktorovka, Vneszapnoye, Gordeevka, Krasnooktyabrskoye, Obukhovka, Snagost and 10th October. Also over the past 24 hours, the group’s units repelled two enemy counterattacks in the direction of Fanaseevka and Snagost, and also foiled an attempted attack in the direction of Olgovka.”
With the support of aviation and artillery, Russian units repelled four attempts by the AFU to break through the Russian border in the direction of Novy Put and Medvezhye, the Defense Ministry said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a press conference with his Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nauseda that the situation in Kursk Region is developing according to Kyiv’s plans.
Telegram channel UNIAN posted his words: “The Russians have launched counter-offensive actions, this is going according to our Ukrainian plan. Ukraine has long seen the accumulation of troops on the territory of Belarus and controls this process.”
We shall remind you that the Ukrainian military entered the territory of Kursk Region on August 6. About a hundred settlements were occupied, about 150 thousand people were evacuated from eight border districts of the region (there are 19 districts in the region in total).
