The AFU attacked the Belgorod region

The Ukrainian army is trying to break through the border in the Belgorod region, the region’s governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

“Information has appeared that the enemy is trying to break through the border of the Belgorod region. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the situation on the border remains difficult but controlled. Our military is carrying out routine work,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the Ukrainian military fired 23 drones and more than 70 ammunition at 27 populated regions over the past day. “As a result of shelling of the town of Shebekino, 6 civilians were wounded, two of them independently sought medical help after the morning shelling,” Gladkov specified.

The governor added that 11 cars, 16 private houses, 13 apartment buildings, five commercial facilities, an agricultural enterprise and a power supply line were damaged as a result of the Ukrainian army attack.

According to Shot, a Ukrainian group of eight armored vehicles and 60 soldiers engaged in a battle with Russian border guards near the village of Nekhoteyevka. The Russian army hit the Ukrainian military with artillery and air strikes.

Last Sunday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the settlement of Rakitnoye. The attack killed five civilians and wounded 12 people, six of whom, including a 16-year-old girl, are in serious condition.

Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Belgorod region has been regularly attacked by the AFU. Since 2023, the frequency of shelling has increased to 300-400 per month. Drone strikes and shelling have repeatedly damaged power lines and substations.

At least 239 civilians in Belgorod Region have been killed by shelling since the war began, local publication Fonar has calculated. More than five thousand apartments and private houses in Belgorod have been hit by missile strikes, and more than seven thousand in border areas, regional authorities said.
