Roskomnadzor has handed over to the Investigative Committee of Russia information about 45 people listed in the register of “foreign agents” and not complying with the requirements for labeling materials. Criminal cases have been opened against 25 of them, TASS reported citing the press service of Roskomnadzor.
It is not specified against whom exactly the cases were brought. At the moment, the register includes 606 “foreign agents” – 52 of them are resources, 92 – legal entities, 34 – associations without the formation of legal entities and 428 people.
It is reported that in 2024, Roskomnadzor made 180 protocols for the lack of labeling in the materials of “foreign agents”, the courts imposed fines totaling more than 7.1 million rubles.
The first criminal case against a “foreign agent” was initiated in February 2023, the defendant was a Tver activist, coordinator of the movement Golos Artem Vazhenkov. He left Russia now the investigation of the case is suspended.
