Russian troops launched missile strikes on Odessa on Monday evening. According to the head of the regional military administration Oleh Kiper, two civilians were killed. Later the number of victims rose to four – they were three women and one man.
Thirty-two people were injured, 25 of them were hospitalized, the rest were treated on the spot. Among the hospitalized are two children – a 12-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl in serious condition, as well as a pregnant woman. Oleg Kiper said that the Russian army used ballistic missiles, presumably with cluster munitions.
Residential houses and civilian infrastructure were damaged. A fire broke out in the Palace of Students of the Odessa Law Academy.
The head of Kharkiv region Oleh Sinegubov also reported about the shelling on Monday. Two people were injured there – a man and a woman.
An elderly man was killed in Kherson Region because of shelling in the village of Kizomys, regional administration chairman Oleksandr Prokudin has said. Another local resident was hospitalized with injuries.
Russia shells Ukraine on a daily basis. The Russian Defense Ministry says it strikes only military targets. The Russian command does not comment on civilian deaths and destruction of civilian infrastructure.
