Danish Ambassador to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen has said that Copenhagen will give Kyiv all its F-16 fighter jets.
“Don’t worry, there will definitely be airplanes for Ukraine. This is our entire fleet of F-16s, which is now being decommissioned because we are getting a new generation of F-35 aircraft”, Mikkelsen said in an interview with the We Are Ukraine channel (quoted by Ukrainska Pravda).
Nevertheless, the ambassador confirmed earlier information that Denmark intends to sell its F-16s to Argentina, but said that Ukraine will receive the promised number of fighter jets.
Mikkelsen did not say when this would happen. Earlier, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said that Denmark is doing everything possible to ensure that the first F-16s appear in Ukraine in the summer.
