Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in the United States ahead of his speech at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. He is scheduled to have talks with United States President Joe Biden, leaders of both houses of Congress and high-ranking military officials. This was reported by Western agencies.
From the airport Zelenskyy headed to the Ukrainian servicemen who are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in the United States. About this the President wrote in Telegram-channel.
The Ukrainian leader said it was necessary to “return full force” to the UN Charter. Zelensky noted that the key principle of this document is the territorial integrity of the state. It is necessary to increase the ability of the world organization “to stop aggressions and prevent them”, Zelenskyy stressed. This was reported by Deutsche Welle.
The President announced that Ukraine “will make a clear proposal on this matter to the UN members”.
The White House confirmed that Zelenskyy arrived in New York to speak directly – not via video link – to representatives of the world community.
