The Ukrainian authorities have decided to fire all heads of regional military commissions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his Telegram channel.
According to the president, 112 criminal cases have been opened in Ukraine against employees of military enlistment offices, and 33 people have been given the status of suspects. Zelensky said that dismissed military commissars should be replaced by war veterans.
“This system should be run by people who know exactly what war is and why cynicism and bribery during war is treason. Warriors who have passed the front or cannot be in the trenches because they have lost their health, lost limbs, but have preserved their dignity and have no cynicism – they are the ones who can be trusted with this manning system,” Zelensky said.
The president instructed the commander-in-chief of the AFU Valerii Zaluzhny to implement this decision. Before appointing new heads of military commissions, they will be checked by the Security Service of Ukraine.
