The Polish Defense Ministry has agreed to send additional troops to the border with Belarus after a request from the Border Guard Service. This is reported by the Polish News Agency (PAP) with reference to the Minister of Defense of the country, Mariusz Blaszczak.
Earlier, head of the Polish Border Guard Service Tomasz Praga asked the Defense Ministry to send an additional thousand troops to the border with Belarus.
“Due to the dynamic situation on the Polish-Belarusian border and the request of the head of the border guard to increase the army’s participation in border protection, the Minister of National Defense has ordered to fulfill the request and allocate additional soldiers to patrol the Polish-Belarusian border”, Blaszczak said in a statement.
Now two thousand Polish soldiers are serving on the border with Belarus.
