Ukraine announces increased drone attacks on Russia

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, tweeted that Kyiv intends to intensify drone attacks on Moscow and other targets in Russia. According to him, a “full-fledged war” will soon move into the aggressor’s territory.

“Moscow is accelerating its accustoming to a full-fledged war, which will soon finally move to the territory of the “authors of the war” to collect all debts from them. Everything that will continue to happen in Russia is an objective historical process. More unidentified drones, more devastation, more civil conflicts, more war”.

Volodymyr Zelensky also previously stated about the “return” of war on Russian territory. He noted that the Russian military “has gone bankrupt on the battlefield”, while the Ukrainian army is getting stronger.

“The war is gradually returning to the territory of Russia – to its symbolic centers and military bases, and this is an inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process”, Zelensky said, commenting on the preparation of the Ukrainian energy sector for winter.

Two drone attacks on the Moscow-City business complex took place over the past three days. On the night of July 30, two drones collided with high-rises of the complex, damaging the Oko-2 and IQ-Quarter towers. The third drone was shot down by air defense in the Odintsovo district of Moscow Region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The latest attack, which occurred on the night of August 1, damaged the facade of the IQ-Quarter at the level of the 21st floor and destroyed 150 square meters of window glazing.

Employees of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development working in the IQ-Quarter building have been transferred to remote work until the end of this week to resolve office problems.

Darya Levchenko, advisor to the Russian Minister of Economic Development, said that the damage to the building will now need to be assessed. She noted that this assessment will take some time, but the ministry’s employees continue to work remotely due to the conditions formed during the covid restrictions.

Yandex, whose offices are located in the Oko-2 building, also warned its employees about the prohibition of being in the office at night due to the current situation and asked everyone to take care of themselves.
