According to NBC News, a group of former senior U.S. national security officials met with the Russian foreign minister in April in New York.
The meeting discussed “the most pressing issues of the war in Ukraine” – in particular, the fate of Russian-occupied territories, which Ukraine “may not be able to liberate” – and the search for a diplomatic solution that would satisfy both sides.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described the NBC News report as “a dossier sent to the Western media”.
