Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with the military that Russia “fully” financed the activities of the Wagner PMC.
According to Interfax, Putin claims that for the maintenance of the entire PMC “only from May 2022 to May 2023” from the budget took 86.3 billion rubles. According to him, this amount included funds for the maintenance of mercenaries, as well as incentive and insurance payments.
Also, according to Putin’s assurances, another 110 billion rubles were allocated by the state for insurance payments to the mercenaries. In addition, he said that the owner of Concord (again, Putin did not mention the name of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the PMC), “earned 80 billion rubles from the state” during this period for supplying the Russian military.
