Ukrainian Defense Ministry claims that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back a large-scale Russian offensive.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting offensives in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions and are deterring a large-scale Russian military offensive in the Liman and Bakhmut directions, said Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Anna Malyar.
The east of Ukraine remains the main direction of the enemy’s attacks, she said. “The goal is to reach the borders of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Near Bakhmut the situation is unchanged, there are several clashes every day, the line is stable. In general, in the east, our troops hold their positions firmly, repelling constant enemy attacks and inflicting maximum losses on the occupant”, Malyar asserted.
Malyar also claimed “partial successes” in the Zaporizhzhya direction. Earlier, the same term was used by the speaker of the General Staff Andrei Kovalyov in the air of the national telethon.
Earlier, ISW reported that the Russian army was trying to disrupt Ukraine’s counterattack with counterattacks, but considered these attempts insignificant.
