One of the units of the Ukrainian army, the 68th Oleksa Dovbush Independent Jaeger Brigade, announced the liberation of the village of Blagodatnoye in the Donetsk region. The brigade also reported that it “managed to capture Russian servicemen”.
The brigade’s press service published a video showing the Ukrainian servicemen entering a half-destroyed building and installing a Ukrainian flag over it.
The release of Blagodatnoye was also reported by the press service of the AFU Ground Forces.
The Russian authorities have not yet commented on the statements made by the Ukrainian military.
At night, the Russian pro-Russian Telegram channel Rybar wrote that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had occupied Blagodatnoye and another settlement, the village of Neskuchnoye, “practically without a fight”. A representative of the Russian-controlled administration of the occupied part of Zaporizhia region, Vladimir Rogov, also reported that the Neskuchne village had been occupied by the Ukrainian military.
