The area of territories flooded after the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP dam has almost halved. This was reported by the Kherson regional administration.
The total area of flooded settlements decreased from 139 to 77.8 square kilometers. Yesterday the water was removed from three villages of Berislavsky district – Nikolayevka, Lvovo and Olgovka.
46 settlements remained flooded: 32 on the right bank and 14 on the occupied left bank.
Earlier, the Interior Ministry of Ukraine reported that as a result of the destruction of the dam, 46 settlements were flooded, 14 of them on the Russian-occupied territory. The Ukrainian authorities are aware of five dead on the territory under their control, while 35 people are missing.
