“Shameful indifference.” Zelensky condemned the world’s reaction to the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP

“Now, unfortunately, we see that on some levels in the world there is simply shameful indifference to the ecocide and human tragedy caused by the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant”, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his evening address to the nation.

“When international organizations that are supposed to protect life on a global scale do not even have time to form and send a rescue mission to the occupied territory in a week, when some world actors do not dare to come out even with clear and strong statements that would condemn this next Russian crime of war, terrorists simply feed on this weakness of the world, this indifference – it encourages them. And this we must overcome. And we will overcome it”, Zelensky said.

“Russian shelling continues – as well as evacuation points. No real help to people in flooded areas – not for propaganda, but for the sake of people – Russia does not provide. There should be a separate, fair and strict responsibility of the Russian state and the Russian leadership for this”, the president of Ukraine said.
