Armenia is not an ally of Russia in the war with Ukraine, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with the Czech TV channel CNN Prima News.
“This has never been said out loud, but I think it is noticeable: we are not Russia’s allies in the war with Ukraine. And our feeling about this war, about this conflict, is that it is disturbing, because it directly affects all of our relations”, – he said (quoted by News.am).
Pashinyan pointed to the vulnerability of Armenia’s position: in the West, the country is considered an ally of Russia, while Russia does not think so.
“It seems that there is a way to avoid all these clashes, but the truth is that the more difficult the situation becomes, the less room for maneuvering becomes. We avoid it not because we don’t have an opinion on the situation, but because we ourselves have a lot of problems that prevent us from being more involved in other issues”, – said Pashinyan.
