Court refuses to remove “foreign agents” status from Galkin, Slepakov and Varlamov

Moscow’s Zamoskvoretsky Court considered the claims of Maksim Galkin, Semyon Slepakov and Ilya Varlamov who challenged the inclusion in the register of “foreign agents”. This was reported by TASS.

Galkin’s representative told the court that the artist is not a political figure, and his status as a “foreign agent” violates his right to freedom of speech and the right not to be discriminated against.

In turn, a representative of the Russian Ministry of Justice said at the session that analysis of the materials posted by the artist revealed his political activities. Also, according to him, Galkin “is under foreign influence”.

The court refused to satisfy the claims of Galkin, Semyon Slepakov and Ilya Varlamov.
