The commander of the Ground Forces of the AFU, Oleksandr Syrsky, arrived at the positions of the Ukrainian troops in the Bakhmut direction. Addressing the military, he said that they “by their actions have brought the entire Russian army into a standstill, because the Russians do not know where the offensive is, where our general offensive is, what is happening near Bakhmut, which they already thought was theirs and told that it was already virtually surrounded”.
Today’s British intelligence summary also mentions that the AFU has made “tactical progress” near Bakhmut over the past four days.
Syrsky’s channel says that together with unit and unit commanders he discussed “the necessary decisions for the continuation of the defensive operation”.
Syrsky had previously visited the Bakhmut area on May 7.
