Early in the morning of May 16, Russia launched its eighth massive attack on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv. This time it was exceptional in its density – a large number of missiles in a very short period of time, UNIAN wrote.
KCMA chief Serhii Popko said on Telegram that the attack was complex, from different directions simultaneously, using drones, cruise missiles, and probably ballistic-type missiles.
According to preliminary information from the administration, air defense forces detected and destroyed the vast majority of enemy targets. After the attack, debris was recorded falling in the Solomianskiy, Shevchenkivsky, Svyatoshinsky, Obolonsky and Darnitsky districts of Kyiv. According to Popko, the greatest damage was in the Solomiansky district – there was a fire of non-residential premises and several pieces of automotive equipment. The fire has been extinguished. In other districts, debris was found falling on parked cars, the adjoining territory or a forest park area. There is no information about casualties.
According to UNIAN, on the night of Tuesday, May 16, the Russian military once again attacked Ukraine with missiles. Air raid alarms were sounded in all regions of the country, and loud explosions were heard in Kyiv.
