A well-known doctor and volunteer explained why he will take part in the 12th Free Russia Forum
I am not even a politician at all. I’m a doctor. An orthopedic traumatologist.
Nevertheless, I gratefully accepted the invitation not just to participate in this forum, but to speak there. I’ll not talk about politics. I plan to talk about war. About how a doctor sees this war.
I have never participated in political forums or in any parties in my life. And I don’t associate my future life with political activity. Only with medicine. Why do I consider this forum important and significant?
Only for one reason. The reason is as simple and clear as God’s day. All these worthy people are engaged in the main thing – they’re looking for and finding effective ways to support Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor.
I may not agree with everyone involved in the details. In fact, I don’t know if there are any people with whom I can always agree on everything. Except my wife, of course. That’s where disagreement can be dangerous.
I am with these people today, with this opposition group, only for one, but the most important (and the only important) reason. Namely: there is no platform for the political unity of the Russian opposition except one. That is effectively working together with Ukraine to resist the aggressor and aggression.
Or we are in Ukraine. On the bright side of the front. Or we are for Ukraine. In or for. There are no other meaningful options for those Russians who consider themselves in opposition to Putin’s government.
In or for. TOGETHER.
