Two days ago, some of our colleagues from the Anti-War Committee called for material support for the residents of Kursk region who suffered from military actions. There was even a proposal to collect funds for the Kursk victims through the Russian Sberbank.
Without entering into a discussion with our colleagues about the need to help all residents of the Kursk region, including supporters of Putin and the war unleashed by him, we believe it necessary to emphasize the following.
We consider unacceptable the collection of funds through the structures of the Putin regime and participation in a campaign to support a group of displaced persons, among whom there may be participants or accomplices of the criminal war.
Without questioning the importance of the humanitarian factor, we are convinced that assistance to the inhabitants of the regions in the territories occupied by the Ukrainian armed forces should be provided through the Ukrainian armed forces, Ukrainian state and public structures, and international humanitarian organizations. At least until the structures of political representation of the Russian resistance are formed, capable of assuming responsibility for organizing life in the territories liberated from Putin’s rule. The more territories are liberated from Putinism and the longer they remain outside of Kremlin control, the more acute the question of creating such structures will become.
