On October 1 and 2, 2023, the Free Russia Forum will hold the 5th Anti-War Conference in Tallinn under the slogan “Victory to Ukraine, Freedom to Russia”. We invite everyone who shares this slogan, who considers Putin’s regime illegitimate, the war unleashed by him criminal, and who unconditionally supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The line-up of speakers and guests promises to be colorful and interesting: in addition to Russian opposition politicians, journalists and civil activists, the conference will be attended by European politicians and experts, members of the European Parliament and representatives of Ukraine.
We have already met in Vilnius and Riga. This time we will meet in Tallinn. The Estonian capital was chosen for a reason: this country has an uncompromising stance towards Putin’s Russia and is an important political center in Europe for supporting Ukraine and opposing Russian aggression.
Without the defeat of Putin’s army in Ukraine, there can be no question of change in Russia. Bringing Ukraine’s victory in the war = bringing our country closer to liberation from Putin’s fascism, so one of the central themes of the conference will be anti-Putin/anti-war resistance: experience of anti-war initiatives, support for Ukraine and the volunteer movement, promotion of sanctions, public actions abroad.
Also within the 5th Anti-War Conference we will discuss the military and political situation we are in, the impact of the war on the economy in the world, forms of international pressure on the Putin regime, the socio-economic situation inside Russia, scenarios for restoring freedom and democracy in Russia after defeat in the war, and many other topics.
In addition to the traditional discussion panels, other events of the Free Russia Forum will take place during the conference. Coordinators of regional branches of the FRF will present their initiatives to support Ukraine, the working group on Putin’s List (a project of the Free Russia Forum) will hold a meeting to propose new figures to be included in the list. The “Personnel Reserve” team will hold an open training session for activists.
The conference is organized by the Free Russia Forum, the largest independent platform of the Russian opposition. Since the beginning of full-scale military aggression, the FRF’s anti-war conferences have been attended by: politician Garry Kasparov, the first head of independent Lithuania Vytautas Landsbergis, public and political figure Mikhail Khodorkovsky, politician Dmitry Gudkov, AFU officer and political scientist Taras Berezovets, publicist Alfred Kokh, Ukrainian MP Oleh Dunda, political scientist Aleksandr Morozov, writer Viktor Erofeev, Russian scientist Dmitry Oreshkin, businessman Yevgeny Chichvarkin, economists Vladislav Inozemtsev and Sergey Aleksashenko, lawyer and public figure Yelena Lukyanova, former Lithuanian Vice Foreign Minister Mantas Adomenas, former Latvian Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins, journalist Yevgeny Kiselyov, politician Gennady Gudkov, chair of the UK Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Alicia Kearns, politician Leonid Gozman, politician and co-founder of the Free Russia Forum Ivan Tyutrin, historian Yuri Felshtinsky, political observer Konstantin Eggert, MEP and former Lithuanian Defense Minister Rasa Juknevičienė, and others.
